Run WITH The Law

Join Derby Law Enforcement Officers at your local Run WITH the Law™ (RWTL) on Saturday, May 19, 2012 at Rock River Rapids. Participation fee is only $10 per person and shirts are an additional $15. RWTL is open to students and family members of all ages. You may register online here or download and complete the registration form. Check in starts at 8:00 a.m. with the run starting at 9:00 a.m. Spend the morning as a family, taking a quick 1.5 mile run/walk and enjoy the benefits to your family’s health while supporting the health and fitness of persons with intellectual disabilities.

If you are in western Kansas, you can join the Kiowa County Sheriff's Office for their RWTL on Saturday, May 19th.  We will begin at the Kiowa County Fairgrounds at 4:00 p.m. and run to Davis Park where a hamburger feed will conclude the day's festivities.  For more information, contact Richard McVey at the Kiowa County Sheriff's Office (620.723.2182) or click here for the flyer. The Kansas City Metro agencies are joining forces to present their RWTL on Saturday, June 9 at Schlitterbahn Waterpark (9400 State Ave., KCK). The cost for the fun runs (50 yard, 100 yard and 1/2 mile) is $15 until 5/26, after that is $20. the 3K timed run is $20 until 5/26, after that is $25. Firing Up the Grills for SOKS

The Wyandotte County LETR agencies will be hosting four cookout BBQs, with part of the proceeds beneifiting Special Olympics Kansas. 2012 Torch Run Routes

The Flame of Hope will be passing through these communities in Kansas over the next two months! It's not too late to participate if you are a law enforcement officer! Online registration has closed, but if you are interested in running please download this form and send it to our offices. Or if you are a civilian, come out and cheer on your local officers as they carry the torch for Special Olympics Kansas! Over 1,000 miles will be ran this year by our LETR! Way to go!

Flame of Hope Motorcycle Ride

The 3rd Annual Flame of Hope Ride for Special Olympics Kansas will be held on Saturday, June 16th, 2012. For 2012, we will have starting locations in El Dorado, Emporia, Junction City, Olathe, Topeka, Wichita and Yates Center! Scramble for Special Olympics

The Prairie Village Police Department will be hosting the "Scramble for Special Olympics". The golf tournament will be held at the Meadowbrook Golf and Country Club. 2012 LETR Incentives Announced with a Few Updates!

This year we are offering 2 ways for agencies to earn incentives.  Agencies can track fundraising efforts individually or your agency total can qualify you for group incentives.  This year incentives include commemorative tumblers, sports towels and sports shirts in addition to attending the 2012 International Law Enforcement Torch Run Conference in Indianapolis!  To qualify for incentives, your agency coordinator must submit a Fundraising Contribution Form by August 31st.  Agencies will need to determine if they are submitting by individual or agency. 2012 LETR International Conference

Special Olympics Indiana will be "Raising the Game" in Indianapolis for the 2012 Law Enforcement Torch Run International Conference. The event will be held November 8-10, 2012 and will celebrate the 31st year of the Torch Run. For up-to-date information, visit the official website here.
